Many people just live life with the flow. They don't care what they really want. However, some people go unbelievable lengths to live life as they want. They defy social norms, traditions, relationships and even their own bodies to pursue a life that they think is suitable for them.
Today, on CNN.com, I read a piece about a transgender man who gave birth to his son, breastfed him and now wants his son to know him as a man.
Already well into his gender transformation process, he and his transgender wife Angel decided to have a baby and he was to conceive and carry it. Extraordinary choice given that both of them were in advanced stage of gender transformation. However, conceive he did, gave birth to the baby, breastfed it. A lot of challenges in terms of physical difficulty and social stigma could not deter them from rearing the child in the most natural way possible.
Looking at that story, I realized that after all, a person's life is much more about that person's chose than about the opinion and perception of the others or the society as a whole. If right amount of determination is there, once can eke a way for one's life in whatever unique way one wants.
