This is a non-exclusive list of my favorite books. Naturally, I have managed to read only a handful of books (250+ so far) and there are millions more that are great but perhaps beyond my elements to read all. Still, among the ones I have read, the following are among the ones which touched my heart the most.
1. मुना मदन (लक्ष्मी प्रसाद देवकोटा) - यसको बारेमा के भन्नु पर्ला र?
2. Three Men in a Boat by Jerome K Jerome - For the sheer amount of laughter it gives.
3. A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens - For the story it weaves around revolutionary France and England.
4. योगमाया (नीलम कार्की निहारिका) - इतिहास, तत्कालिन सामाजिक परिवेश, महिलाहरूको दयनीय स्थिति, छुवाछुत, विद्रोह, सरस भाषा, उखान टुक्का - सबैको सरस मिश्रण
5. And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie - It is a real detective thriller. Once I started reading it, could not put it down. I've read more than 40 books by Christie and this is the most thrilling of them all.
6. Difficulty of Being Good by Gurcharan Das - It is a masterpiece that relates stories of Mahabharat, the context of human mentality and modern psychology. It is based on an immense amount of research and analysis by the author.

7. The Old Man and the Sea by Earnest Hemingway - This small book by the Nobel Laureate is a masterpiece depicting the strength of human spirit in times of peril. It uplifts the spirits by reminding that human spirit and will can fight unthinkable adversities.
8. To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee - This is a heart-touching story of racial segregation and a person's fight against that. It is also a book about family, love and human compassion with each other.
9. Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde - This is a remarkably imaginative work of Wilde in which he contemplates a person's dream to stay forever young. Dorian wishes to stay as his picture of youth. He stays young but his picture starts getting aged. A very interesting and philosophical read.
